Why The Life, Death and Resurrection Of Jesus the Christ are Essential

Why The Life, Death and Resurrection Of Jesus the Christ are Essential
Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man... must suffer many things... will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death...and he will be killed.... and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. (Matt 20:17-19)
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (1 Cor 15:1-3)
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his stripes we are healed.( Isaiah 53:5)
and that He was buried, (1 Cor 15:3)
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, (Is. 53:9)
As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.(Matt 27:57-61)
though he had done no violence...he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. (Is. 53:7-9)
Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.” The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God. When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid, (Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about him last night.”) and he went back inside the palace. “Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer...(John 19:4-9; Matt 27:19 Pilate's wife)
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin.....(Is. 53:10)
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.(2 Cor. 5:21)
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. (Is. 53:10)
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” (Matt. 17:5)
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.(Is. 53:10-11)
The next day he (John the Baptist) saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)
For the whole world lies under the sway (rule, control), of the wicked one (satan, the devil) 1 John 5:10
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...(Romans 3:26)
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. (1 Cor 15:20-21)
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  (Romans 10:9)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. (John 3:36)
BUT If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! (Job 19:25-27-Job considered the oldest book in the bible)
