Now the whole earth had one language andf a common speech. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”(Gen. 11)
It seems as if the human race is descending into an abyss of egocentric grandiose deification of self. Rushing headlong into what is the most evil aspects of the human nature. Explore, claim and conquor. And we want sinful, fallen people to populate other dead worlds on the moon and mars? (well it at least it will match our natures!) Mankind has an insatiable curiousity to know the why, what, how, and way of anything and everything around us. And to explore the unknown regions of our existence. But there is a limit to that knowledge. For the serect things belong to God.
By nature we desire the control of everything around us. I must admit I love all those things that make our lives easier to live. Electricity. Wow. Imagine not having that. We would still be washing clothes clean with a rock in a stream. No thank you! Imagine No lightbulbs. Matches and a candel. (thank you Mr. Edison) No oil lamps to light our existence.. . No Radio, (I don't know what I would have done for 54 years? Thank you Mr Marconi) or no TV, (Saturday morning was my favorite. Sky King, What a neat air plane, Fury, what a smart and beautiful horse, Lassie, the dog who was always the hero, Rin tin Tin (as well) and Rocky Jones Space Ranger, a small group of space travelers who a few I remember. And when I was really a small little boy Froggy (the strangely weird frog) on Andy's Gang... plucking his magic Twanger. Plus the Mickey Mouse Club, and Circus Boy (*starring Mickey Dolenz now an old man who became the drummer for The Monkees) No records, No tapes, that lined the desks and shelves of our past. No computers, no digital anything, and for many what stops their hearts from beating, NO SMART PHONES!!! Yikes perish the thought. No instance communication of anything and ev erything, on the world wide web. The younth today have no idea what nthat was like. Actaully in a way it was better. But for them, that would be the destruction of us all. (the instrumentalities of the Forbidden planet not necesssary anymore. Just a thought and it materializes. Yet the Krell forgot one thing. They too hard a fallen nature. And while the Krell slept they dreamt of harm to their neighbor and the monsters from the Id destroyed them all...in one night). That Science Fiction masterpiece might just be a (For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other. It seems as if humanity is descending into the darker aspects of our fallen human nature.
On the Cross Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, .He breathed His last. He gave up His spirit.
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
