The Necessity of Jesus/The Reality of Hell

No one talks about Hell anymore. And no one believes they are headed there. Yet it's a doctrine that was spoken about by Jesus Christ more in the Scriptures than anyone else. The doctrine is overshadowed by God's Love in todays world. Which is true. God is love.  God loved us and sent His One and Only Son Jesus to save us from our sins. To save us from God's wrath. To save us from an eternity in Hell. And bestow upon us a citizenship in heaven for eternity.  For God does not desire anyone to perish but all to come to repentence.                                                                                                                                    In the original language of the New Testment (koine Greek--the common language of that day )  the word used for wrath is Orge (pronounced or-gay)  from which we get our english word orgy. Which has to do excusively with a wild party characterized by excessive drinking and indiscriminate sexual activity.                                                                                                                                                                       The word orge translated as wrath in the Bible sense has the meaning of  anger, punishment, vengeance and passion.  Thus that last definition the one we are accustomed to in our modern day venacular. (indiscriminate sexual activity) NOTE: In ancient Greek there were secret rites used in the worship of Bacchus, Dionysus, and other Greek and Roman deities, celebrated with dancing, drunkenness, and singing: Ancient Greek religious rituals included sexual activity, particularly in cities like Corinth, where temple prostitution was practiced.

The sense of the word orge in our New Testament translated "WRATH" is in the sense of punishment, and anger that God has toward sin and thus to all mankind....for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 1:18-32;3:26) In fact Paul the Apostle tells us quoting the Old Testament ...As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10-12)

Jesus the  Messiah spoke about hell more than anyone else in scripture. If we can't/won't believe in the doctrine of hell because we find it offensive or unfair, what other doctrines might we question? Jesus stressed in but few words the reality of Hell as being a place all should seek to avoid. In matthew 7:13 and 14 Messiah Jesus said,  enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.                                                                                                                  Jesus the Christ, the promised Messiah of Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6; Zech. 9:9;  Micah 5:2; Ps. 40;6-8; 45:6-7 (see Heb. 1:8-9); said He came to fulfill the law and the prophets. What was written many centuries before came to fruition in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was]bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.  (Isaiah 53:5)

As it is written, Jesus told the disciples of John the Baptist who asked "are you the coming One, or do we look for another?  With these words  "The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.  And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” (Matt. 11:4-5)

He was that child born, that Son given. Born of  a virgin, born under the law,  to fulfill the law and the prophets: He who has existed from all eternity. But when the fullness of time had come God sent forth his Son, born of a woman (a virgin) born under ther law,  to save his people from their sins. To save them from the terrors of a hellish existence in eternity. Absent from the presence of God and the Glory of His power.  Born again--Born from above to a New Life in Jesus Christ and a Citzenship in Heaven to glorify and enjoy Him forever.

God is very passionate for His righteousness. Scripture tells us God is angry with the wicked everyday. And those wicked will be turned into Hell. Where God will mete out His righteous wrath and punishment on the wicked who are  without the only name under heaven by which we can be saved....Jesus Christ...who Himself said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No One comes to the Father except by me. (John 14:6)

To have a citizenship in heaven in eternity in God's kingdom, for  Jesus proclaimed you must be perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect. You must have the righteousness of God the Son imputed to your account. Since none of us are or can be perfect in and of ourselves before a Holy, Righteous, Perfect God. Having inherited our sinful natures from the first humans who disobeyed and believed the lie of satan rather than to believe and trust in the God who created them from the dust of the earth.           .  Scripture reveals all our righteous acts are as filthy rags before God. (Is. 64:6)  And that there is no one righteous, NO Not One. Nothing we can do in this tainted, fallen state to which all of us are born and enslaved too, can ingratiate us into God's favor. The human race needed a perfect, undefiled, sinless person to do that. And only God the Son would do. The WORD who was in the beginning with God and was God Himself. "For He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."(John 1:2-4)

God sent His One and Only Son to save His people from their sins. To be a ransom, to buy us back into favor with God. Jesus came down from heaven, took on a body of flesh and blood and bones. He lived that perfect life none of us could.

Paul discusses that state of rebellion and hatred of God and the sin that corrupted our souls as he addressed the believers in Corinth: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,  nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." Then Paul adds these words to the congregation: "And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.( 1 Cor. 6:9-11) God seeks out His own. The Father draws them to His Son. That they might be forgiven and have new life in Christ. And save us from the wrath of God that will be poured out on the world. And the state of eternal punishment that awaits all those who have not Jesus christ as Savior and Lord.

Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,  has triumphed.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)

If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

And from the Old Testament we see: "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt." (everlasting disgust, revulsion, hostility, enmity and abomination)...Daniel 12:2)

Jesus on Hell

Matt. 13:41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,  and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matt. 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

Matt. 10:28 do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Mark 9:43 And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.

Matt. 18:9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.

Mark 9:43-47 43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’  And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—  where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

Matt. 22:13 Jesus told them: Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Matt. 13:50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Other verses on Hell

Jude1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

2 Thess. 1: 7-9 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Rev. 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Christ beckons all who hear God's call to believe, confess, repent, trust and obey to be delivered from the wrath of God coming on this world and the everlasting wrath that awaits  all those who refuse God's precious gift of eternal life.

Hebrews 1:1-4 " God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,  has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;  who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,  having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Jesus says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls.  For My yoke is easy  and My burden is light. Fate of Sodom and Gomorrah--the Last straw

The Last Straw--the last in a series of unpleasant events that finally makes someone  feel that they cannot continue to accept a bad situation: that final burden (trouble, trail) that pushes a diffcult situtation into the realm of the unbearable.

The actions of many in our land mimic, even rival and surpass the wickedness that infected the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. They had sunk down to the lowest depths of the fiery flames wallowing in the most brazen  deeds of the flesh. Conspiring to particpate in vile, forbidden, atrocities of the flesh that God had never intended. Acts that saddened and angered a Holy and Righteous God as His perfection in creation (let Us make God in our imagine, in our likeness...Gen. 1:26) had been brought to such a lowly estate.

From the moment that Eve believed the lie of that serpent of old, the devil or satan. He promised her  if she would eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they would be like God. God forbade and warned them otherwise, "if you eat you shall die." She then passed that forbidden delicacy to Adam who likewise had his eyes opened to their nakedness and shame.

The disobedience of Sodom and Gomorrah ripened to such a lowly and abominable state (Lev.18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27)  that God's only recourse was to wipe them from the face of the earth into everlasting destruction from the presence of God and glory of His power. The weeping and gnashing of teeth their eternal doom. An eternity that Jesus Christ Himself called a fiery furance, unquenchable fire, eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels, eternal punishment. Emphasized while God's One and Only Son sojourned on earth. The end for those who practice what God has declared detestable transgressions. A never ending experience of misery under God's wrath. (John 3:36;5:24)

In Ezekiel the prophet tells us: “‘See here—this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help the poor and needy.  They were haughty and practiced abominable deeds before me. Therefore, when I saw it I removed them." (Eze. 16:49-50)

"Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be broken beyond repair."Pr. 29:1

Those cities had gotten so depraved, so disgustingly vile and  wicked that cries went up to God.  So blatantly profane and perverse their actions to a Holy and Righteous God. That the LORD determined He had no other recourse than to rain down fire and brimstone and wipe them from the face of the earth. Total annihilation from the physical realm and everlasting punishment in the spiritual domain. (Rev. 20:11-15)  God's only option as their continual and increasing disobedience, their vile wickedness and perversion poisoned mankind and culminated in the final  abomination that attacked the very act of creation itself. Mankinds ability to bring forth progeny to continue the species through the ages.

The Apostle Paul showed us in his epistle to the Romans that which leads up to the Last Straw in the economy of God.  Scripture says we can know there is a God by everything that is around us. All of creation reveals that God exists. But rather than worship the One True and Only God. The world turned to idols, animals, creeping things and  even venerated  mortal human beings, worshipping the creation itself rather than God.

A time comes when God says enough is enough.  And God hands  mankind over to their own evil, wicked abominable thoughts and actions. Culminating in the most detestable, heinous, morally polluting perversity that finally seals the fate of those who practice such things: "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:26-27 NKJV) God gave them over to a reprobate mind;

a vain empty mind, worthless, good for nothing devoid of all true knowledge and judgment; incapable of approving what is truly good, or of disapproving that which is evil; a mind that has lost all conscience of things, and is disapproved of by God, and all good men: (John Gill Romans 1:28)

Yet in all this God still reveals His mercy. He has provided even to the most hardened, vicious, depraved, corrupt person. In who's heart God is moving, convicting and calling, by grace through faith and not of themselves. A Blessed Hope from the sin that plagues them.  He can deliver even the most vile, perverse person that He choses to regenerate. To a peace with God, that transcends all understanding,  through Jesus Christ the Lord. (1 Cor. 1:26-31)  He  came to save those who God the Father gives Him to New Life. A Blessed Hope--living for the God who bought them at a price. For as scripture says "he has mercy or whom he wills."

Prehaps God is working in your heart to know His truth. Revealing to you that there's something amiss, adrift and wrong in your life. You are sick with sin, spiraling  down the road to destruction. You need the great physican. He can heal your pain and shame. God has the answer. For in  mankinds state of unbelief God is still working. God is still calling out those he has chosen from the foundation of the world. I myself believe everyone brought from darkness to light, from death to life  is a miracle of God's grace and mercy. I attest to that fact myself. As the beloved hymn proclaims:

Jesus paid it all,
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow **

For if you confess with hour mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. For God is a consuming fire. The wicked do not go unpunished.  We must all stand before the judgement seat of Christ.  (Romans 14:10; 1 Cor 5:10)

Will you stand before Him in your own filthy rags of unrighteousness.(Isaiah 64:6)  Or be covered by that righteousness of God's One and Only Son? It's not that we loved God but that God loved us and sent His Son to be an atoning sacifice for our sins.  He came, He died, He rose, He reigns. Come to him all you who labor and are heavy laden and Jesus Christ will give you rest. For those without Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and Life, they will experience everlasting punishment. (Matt. 25:46) But those who have the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed to their account by grace through faith. They will experience everlasting life, in the presence of God and the glory of His power. Which is far better than the alternative.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matt. 7:13-14) Jesus said, I am the door. If anyone enters by me, they will be saved. (John 10:9)

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in homosexuality,  nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers [whose words are used as weapons to abuse, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or slander], nor swindlers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior].  (1 Cor 6:9-11AMP)

God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,  so that no one may boast before him.  It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (1 Cor. 1:27-39)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creationold things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Cor. 5:17)

**The phrase "He washed it white as snow" in the hymn refers to Jesus washing away the crimson stain of sin. It symbolizes God's grace and the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice

"Jesus answered and said to them,

You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God." *

Those of us who have been born again, born from above literally, by God's grace and mercy, not of anything we have done or will ever do, it is a gift of God, not of works, have been given a second chance. To worship God and enjoy Him forever.

I see in nature the very mind of God. God's beauty in His creation. The endless created wonders of an all powerful, sustaining, gracious, caring and loving God. Who invites those who are burdened and heavy laden who have heard the call, to come to Him

Mankind launches telescopes into the vast advance of space to observe the cosmos and come back with  more questions than answers. Theories and hypothesis crumble and disintegrate into oblivion as what has or is a belief that they rallied around creating  more problems than answers. When in reality the universe is far more mysterious and complex. That it doesn't make any sense within the confines of mankinds limited knowledge and  conclusion. With the result, the universe should not even exist.**  Yet it does.

The Holy Scriptures of the Christian faith, the Bible speaks to us  with these Words: In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. That indeed he spoke it out by His Word. Who was in the beginning with God and was God. For that Word, (the devine reason that orders the cosmos and gives it form and meaning) , that Word is,was and forever will be/is Jesus Christ. (John 1:1-5)

Two thousand years ago God sent that Word into this world. He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. The Son of God took on a body of flesh, blood and bones, humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When mankind, represented by Adam and Eve,  doubted the Word of God and disobeyed and  listened rather to the serpent, (the adversary of God...the devil or satan)  who told them, you shall not die but  you shall be like God. They listened, disobeyed God's command and were cast out of the garden of Eden. Scripture tells us all things were then subjected to futility, vanity, uselessness, pointlessness, to corruption by God Himself.  Disobedience and disbelief in the God who formed them from the dust of the earth  was judged. The sentence of death was bestowed on all God's creation. And the entire creation fell into disarray. Not only for them, but also for all their progeny. That is all the human race that comes after.  But God has not left us without hope.

That Blessed Hope is the gospel message. For without the shedding of blood. Rrepresented in the Old Testament animal  sacrifices, which scripture tells us," in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins." For by man sin came into the world, so that only by a man, not just any man, but the Word,  God's One and Only Son, who was not tainted by sin and corruption. Obeyed His Father, came down from heaven, born to a virgin and thus was perfect in all aspects, of His humanity. Maintaining His purity despite living in a sinful world. The divine, Word clothed Himself in human flesh, took on the nature of man. Jesus the One and Only Son of the Father  spoken about 750 years before His birth by Isaiah the Prophet:

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus willingly obeyed  and always did His Father's will. And in him God he Father is well pleased. and He tells us to "Listen to him." For He has the words of eternal life, forgiveness for sins, and escape from the ravages of Hell. For the fer of the Lord is  the beginning of wisdom. And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.(Proverbs 9:10)

And a man in the synagogue with an unclean spirit (demon) cried out in the presence of Jesus  saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”  Yes even the demons believe and tremble. So do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matt. 10:28)

For Jesus Christ, The Son of God, Son of Man Himself proclaimed "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No One comes to the Father except through me."(John 14:6)

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.  (John 5:17-18)

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and My Father are one.” (John 10:27-30)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.(John 3:16-17)

And when John in his revelation was in the Spirit on the Lord's day he saw One like the Son of man, with eyes like a flame of fire, out of His mouth came a sharp two edged sword and an exhibted an appearance like the sun shining in its strenght. John fell at his feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on John, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.  I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (See Revelation 1:12-20)

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2)

For when you honor the Son, you honor the Father who sent him....For in him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. It took a perfect man to secure our salvation for as Jesus himself said, "to have a place in the kingdom of God, you must be perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect." No mere moral man or woman could pay that required cost. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And in God's sight there is no one righteous no not one. (Rom. 3:10-18; 26)

Jesus was given given a divine task that would secure the deliverance of mankind from bondage to sin and a place in the Kingdom of God. The human race, lost, fallen and blinded to God's truth would be given a second chance. God would open hearts to believe, confess, repent, believe, trust and obey. Jesus came to deliver us from the wrath of God. And bestow upon undeserving sinners everlasting  life That is the Good news. "For God has delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.(Col. 1:13-14) That is the  Gospel:

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,   (1 Cor. 15:3-4)

Jesus came into the world to save sinners. To remove the shackles of a heart blinded by the god of this age, the enemy of all mankind, the devil, satan and deliver us into the kingdom of His love. For if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved. Saved from the wrath of God that is coming and into eternal  life, with a citizenship in heaven. In the presence of God and the glory of his power. There is no other way to escape the judgement of God. For the world and its desires are passing away more and more each day.  Those who have the Son have life. Those who have not the Son shall not have life but the wrath of God abides on them. (1 John 5:12, John 3:36)

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matt. 7:13-14)

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev. 21:8)

Those  who believe in the Son have everlasting life; and those who do not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

Come to me all of you who are tired. You are like people who have worked for a long time. You are like people who have carried heavy things. Come to me. If you do that, you will find a place to rest.  Do what I teach you to do. Listen to my message and learn from me what is true. I am very kind and I do not make myself important. I will help you. Then you will have peace in your mind.  I will not tell you to do things that are too difficult. I will not tell you to carry anything that is too heavy for you.’ (Matt. 11:28-30)
