No one talks about Hell anymore. And no one believes they are headed there. Yet it's a doctrine that was spoken about by Jesus Christ more in the Scriptures than anyone else. The doctrine is overshadowed by God's Love in todays world. Which is true. God is love. God loved us and sent His One and Only Son Jesus to save us from our sins. To save us from God's wrath. To save us from an eternity in Hell. And bestow upon us a citizenship in heaven for eternity. For God does not desire anyone to perish but all to come to repentence. In the original language of the New Testment (koine Greek--the common language of that day ) the word used for wrath is Orge (pronounced or-gay) from which we get our english word orgy. Which has to do excusively with a wild party characterized by excessive drinking and indiscriminate sexual activity. The word orge translated as wrath in the Bible sense has the meaning of anger, punishment, vengeance and passion. Thus that last definition the one we are accustomed to in our modern day venacular. (indiscriminate sexual activity) NOTE: In ancient Greek there were secret rites used in the worship of Bacchus, Dionysus, and other Greek and Roman deities, celebrated with dancing, drunkenness, and singing: Ancient Greek religious rituals included sexual activity, particularly in cities like Corinth, where temple prostitution was practiced.
The sense of the word orge in our New Testament translated "WRATH" is in the sense of punishment, and anger that God has toward sin and thus to all mankind....for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 1:18-32;3:26) In fact Paul the Apostle tells us quoting the Old Testament ...As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10-12)
Jesus the Messiah spoke about hell more than anyone else in scripture. If we can't/won't believe in the doctrine of hell because we find it offensive or unfair, what other doctrines might we question? Jesus stressed in but few words the reality of Hell as being a place all should seek to avoid. In matthew 7:13 and 14 Messiah Jesus said, enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Jesus the Christ, the promised Messiah of Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6; Zech. 9:9; Micah 5:2; Ps. 40;6-8; 45:6-7 (see Heb. 1:8-9); said He came to fulfill the law and the prophets. What was written many centuries before came to fruition in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was]bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
As it is written, Jesus told the disciples of John the Baptist who asked "are you the coming One, or do we look for another? With these words "The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” (Matt. 11:4-5)
He was that child born, that Son given. Born of a virgin, born under the law, to fulfill the law and the prophets: He who has existed from all eternity. But when the fullness of time had come God sent forth his Son, born of a woman (a virgin) born under ther law, to save his people from their sins. To save them from the terrors of a hellish existence in eternity. Absent from the presence of God and the Glory of His power. Born again--Born from above to a New Life in Jesus Christ and a Citzenship in Heaven to glorify and enjoy Him forever.
God is very passionate for His righteousness. Scripture tells us God is angry with the wicked everyday. And those wicked will be turned into Hell. Where God will mete out His righteous wrath and punishment on the wicked who are without the only name under heaven by which we can be saved....Jesus Christ...who Himself said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No One comes to the Father except by me. (John 14:6)
To have a citizenship in heaven in eternity in God's kingdom, for Jesus proclaimed you must be perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect. You must have the righteousness of God the Son imputed to your account. Since none of us are or can be perfect in and of ourselves before a Holy, Righteous, Perfect God. Having inherited our sinful natures from the first humans who disobeyed and believed the lie of satan rather than to believe and trust in the God who created them from the dust of the earth. . Scripture reveals all our righteous acts are as filthy rags before God. (Is. 64:6) And that there is no one righteous, NO Not One. Nothing we can do in this tainted, fallen state to which all of us are born and enslaved too, can ingratiate us into God's favor. The human race needed a perfect, undefiled, sinless person to do that. And only God the Son would do. The WORD who was in the beginning with God and was God Himself. "For He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."(John 1:2-4)
God sent His One and Only Son to save His people from their sins. To be a ransom, to buy us back into favor with God. Jesus came down from heaven, took on a body of flesh and blood and bones. He lived that perfect life none of us could.
Paul discusses that state of rebellion and hatred of God and the sin that corrupted our souls as he addressed the believers in Corinth: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." Then Paul adds these words to the congregation: "And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.( 1 Cor. 6:9-11) God seeks out His own. The Father draws them to His Son. That they might be forgiven and have new life in Christ. And save us from the wrath of God that will be poured out on the world. And the state of eternal punishment that awaits all those who have not Jesus christ as Savior and Lord.
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)
If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
And from the Old Testament we see: "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt." (everlasting disgust, revulsion, hostility, enmity and abomination)...Daniel 12:2)

Mark 9:43-47 43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
Matt. 22:13 Jesus told them: Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Other verses on Hell
Jude1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
2 Thess. 1: 7-9 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
Rev. 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Christ beckons all who hear God's call to believe, confess, repent, trust and obey to be delivered from the wrath of God coming on this world and the everlasting wrath that awaits all those who refuse God's precious gift of eternal life.
Hebrews 1:1-4 " God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Jesus says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30 AMP)
