Love Of The World/Power of Sin

                                               Do Not Love The World

1 John 5:19

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. (NKJV)

We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. (NLT)

We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (NASB)

We know [for a fact] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] lies in the power of the evil one [opposing God and His precepts]. (AMP)

Sin is all inclusive. It does not exclude anyone or anything. It taints every sinew  of a human beings person. Just waiting to rear its ugly head and strike like the fangs of a serpent when opportunity presents itself. It is the inclination of every action. It is the motive of every thought. It is the incurable malady that courses though the soul.

As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;

There is none who understands;

There is none who seeks after God.

They have all turned aside;

They have together become unprofitable;

There is none who does good, no, not one.”

“Their throat is an open tomb;

With their tongues they (habitually) have practiced deceit”;

“The poison of asps is under their lips”;

“Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

Destruction and misery are in their ways;

And the way of peace they have not known.”

“There is no fear of God (and His awsome power)  before their eyes.” (Romans 3:10-18)

In the sight of a Holy, Righteous and Just God we are all corrupt, vile, imperfect, and subject of the verdict of God.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The penalty deserved?

Everlasting punishment absent from the presence of God and the Glory of His power.

It is a sorry state of affairs for a lost and dying world. BUT God has not forsaken His people. God in times past promised a child would be born,  a Son would be given. Born of a virgin. Born under God's law. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father (for He and the Father are One) Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace. There will be no end. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

And when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under law. To redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”  Therefore you are no longer a slave (to your sin nature)  but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Gal. 4:5-7)

Those who have the Son have life. Those who have not the Son the wrath of God abides on them. (John 3:36)

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matt. 7:13-14)

 And these (the unbelievers; unredeemed) will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt.25:46)

Jesus proclaimed "  I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. (John 10:9)

One Way, One Truth, One Life no one comes to the Father except though Him. (John 14:6)

For there is no other Name under heaven by which anyone can be saved. (Act 4:12)

A terminal affliction with but one cure. The great phyician. Jesus the Christ.

                                                                                                                                                    For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17)

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.  For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh (cravings of sinful man), the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (boasting of what we have and do) —comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17)

The Day of The Lord /Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. (Rev. 1:7)                                                                                                            "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, (Matt.25-31)                                                                                                                           “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt. 24:29-31)                                                                                                                                                                                                For the  Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. (1 Thess. 4: 15-16)                                                                                                                                Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, (1 Cor 15:51-52                                                                                                                             For the dead in Christ will rise first. And we shall be changed. (1 Thess 4:16; 1 Cor 15:52)                                                                                  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these wordsBut concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.  For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thess 4:17-18; 5:1-3)

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be Burned up. (2 Peter 3:10)

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken,The houses rifled,And the women ravished.Half of the city shall go into captivity,But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. (Zech. 14:1-3)

And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” (Rev. 16-17)

Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. (Rev. 19:19)              And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.  Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.   Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.  And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great. (rev. 16:18-21)                                                                                                                   This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. (Zech 14:12)

Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.  And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. (Rev. 19:20-21)                                                                                                                                        On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness.  It will be a unique day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.(Zech. 14:6-7)

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.  And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. (Rev 21:23-25)                                                                                                                                           On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter. (Zech. 14:8)

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.  They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. (rev. 21:1-4)

The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name  (Zech 14:9)

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.  He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”  (Rev. 21:3-8)

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you  and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might  on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. (2 Thess. 1:6-10)

Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade others; (2 Cor. 5:11)                                          We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you  not to

                               receive the grace of God in vain.  For He says:

                                          “In an acceptable time I have heard you,

                                                       And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor. 6:1-2)

If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:9-10;13)

Those  who believe in the Son have everlasting life; and but those who have not believed the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”  (John 3:36)
