News That Really Matters (for eternity)

In these times of trouble, and uncertainty, when it seems all hope is lost and there's nothing you can do, know there is Hope, there is something you can do. Something you must do.  Scripture calls it"The Good News" and it is. But without the bad news there can be no appreciation of the Good.

If as you have probably seen on a street corner a "Jesus Loves You" sign and you are not His, you may think, "well, if Jesus loves me, then who needs a savior?" I can assure you everyone does. Eternity is a long, long, long, long  time and where shall you spend it is of utmost importance.  There are only 2 options. Absent from the body and present with the lord. Or separation from the Lord, everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power.  Hear the good news. Believe in your heart. Confess, repent for the days are short and the time is near. 

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,  by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received:

that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, (Peter--a boys name in Hebrew meaning Rock)  then by the twelve.  After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.  Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. (1 Cor 15:1-8)

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3)

As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;

There is none who understands;

There is none who seeks after God.

 They have all turned aside;

They have together become unprofitable;

There is none who does good, no, not one.” 

(Romans 3 Paul quotes Old Testament  Ps 14:1-3;53:1-3, Ecc. 7:20)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)

if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord  and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, (Romans 2:18)

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (Romans 5:9)

But  fornication (sexual immorality)  and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.  For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. (Eph. 5:6)

For the wages of sin is death,

But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels....

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; (Jude 6)

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God...(2 Thess 1:8)

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:26-27)

as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 9)

 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a  depraved mind  (meaning  failing to pass the test, unapproved, worthless) to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness (bitterness, hostility); full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are gossips, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;  who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:26-32)

As Jesus the Christ said of the son of perdition (judas) "It would have been better for him not to have been born."  (Matt. 26:24)  

These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (2 Thess 1:9)

when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. (2 Thess 1:10)

for God is not a man that He should lie....(Numbers 23:19)

For the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

But the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,  because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse....(Romans 1:18-20)

No second chances on the day of judgement. No excuses excepted. For it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. For our God is a consuming fire. (Heb. 10:31; 12:29)

Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. For I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No One comes to the Father except by me. (Jesus words Matt 11:28; John 14:6) 

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Phil 2:5-13)
