Transfiguration

Great message from Dr Rc Sproul at church today. The Transfiguration of  Jesus. (Luke 9:27-36) Dr Sproul mentioned  there was a  metamorphosis  "his face shone like the sun" Matt 17:2. Recalling that moment Peter  said they  " were eyewitnesses of His majesty." Peter , James and John saw in Christ the divine glory of God.
It bought to my mind the book of Hebrews where the  author states of Christ  "who being the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person." Not just a reflection  but  a visible manifestation of the divine presence. The Shekinah of the Old Testament-- that manifestion of God  Himself in the tabernacle, manifested Himself  in the Son Of God  the Word that became flesh and dwelt (literally tabernacled) among us.
I thought of when the soliders came to seize Him, they called out His name He responded "I Am He ." The soliders drew back and fell to the ground. (John 18:6)
I was reminded me of Paul's words in Phil. 2 "at the name of Jesus every knee will  bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
"this is  my beloved Son in whom I am well please, Listen to Him! "
Have you listened to the the only Name by which anyone can stand in the presence of God? By which anyone can be saved from the torments of hell itself?
                                                       Jesus the Christ is:
The only door to eternity , the narrow road to redemption, the living bread that came down from heaven to give us eternal life; the light of the world, who offers the light of life; the Word who was in the beginning with God and was God;  the One by whom all things were created, in heaven and on earth; the resurrection and life-- The one who believes in Him will live, even though He dies and whoever lives and believes in Him will never die; The Way The Truth and the Life; The One Who claimed  "I am from above, you are from below, you are of this world, I Am not  of this world;  The Son  of God. Before Abraham was, I Am.  The Father proclaimed "this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!
We must all stand before the judgement seat of Christ.....Will you stand before Him in your own righteous acts which are filthy rags to a Holy, Just creator? Or will you be covered by the righteousness of the Savior in whom God is well pleased?
Will God say "depart from Me, I never knew you. Or by the grace offered freely to you--but bought with a price, the precious, perfect blood sacrifice  of Jesus in our place--will John's words resonate:
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.  Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.  And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. (1 John 3:1-3)
Behold now is the accepted time. Behold now is the day of salvation.
Jesus said,  "Come to me all you who are labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."  A peace that transcends all understanding. Repent and believe the Good News!
Jesus, who can not lie proclaimed  "Whoever hears My Words and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life."   Confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. From Him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell.
