Psalm
2
1
Why do the nations rage,
And
the people plot a vain thing?
"the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but
according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they
will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears
away from the truth, "(1 Tim 4:3-4)
2
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And
the rulers take counsel together,
Against
the Lord and against His Anointed, (Messiah-The Christ)
“And
I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the
dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the
false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs,
which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, (the
whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one ) to gather them
to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. “(Rev 16:14-15; 1
John 5:19)
saying,
3
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And
cast away Their cords from us.”
“Has
God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For
God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and
you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Gen 3:4-5)
“He
who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the
light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light, because their deeds were evil.
4
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in
derision. (scorn--unworthy--anger aroused by something
unjust--contempt--something regarded as worthless)
"There
shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a
nation,Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be
delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of
those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to
everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Dan. 12:2)
5
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His
deep displeasure:
"the
Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming
fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who
do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be
punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord
and from the glory of His power, (2 Thess 1:7-9)
“Now
I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him
was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges (the
Father judges no one but has committed all judgement to the Son) and
makes war. (“I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it
were already kindled!) His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on
His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew
except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His
name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in
fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out
of His mouth goes a sharp sword,( “Do not think that I came to
bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.)
that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule
them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the
fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on
His thigh a name written:
KING
OF KINGS AND
LORD
OF LORDS.
(Rev
19:11-16; John 5:22; Lu 12:49;Mt. 10:34; )
6
“Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”
“But
you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the
heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the
general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in
heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made
perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood
of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel." (Heb
12:22-24)
7
“I will declare the decree:
The
Lord has said to Me,
‘You
are My Son,
Today
I have begotten You."
“God,
who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the
fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His
Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He
made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the
express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of
His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than
the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name
than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say:
“You
are My Son,
Today
I have begotten You”?
And
again:
“I
will be to Him a Father,
And
He shall be to Me a Son”?
But
when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:
“Let
all the angels of God worship Him.
“You,
Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And
the heavens are the work of Your hands.
They
will perish, but You remain;
And
they will all grow old like a garment;
Like
a cloak You will fold them up,
And
they will be changed. (So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to
you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne
of His glory...")
But
You are the same....( Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and
forever.)
(Heb
1:1-12; Matt 19:28; Heb. 13:8)
8
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The
nations for Your inheritance,
"He shall see the labor of His soul,
and be satisfied Is 53:11"
And
the ends of the earth for Your possession.
“the
sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the
tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He
will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will
gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven
to the other. Matt. 24:30-31”
9
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You
shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.
“out
of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the
nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself
treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. Rev
19:15”
10
Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be
instructed, you judges of the earth.
11
Serve the Lord with fear,
And
rejoice with trembling.
12
Kiss (pay homage--worship) the Son, lest He be angry,
And
you perish in the way,
When
His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed
are all those who put their trust in Him.
