How familiar all this sounds to me. Hearts grow hard and more wicked each day as they drift further away from the One True God. Practices once shunned, contrary to God's created order, now accepted and lauded. Romans 1:32 as relevant today as 2000 years ago, "who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." And Solomons words ring in my ears, "there is nothing new under the sun." There is no fear of God before their eyes. Paul proclaimed to the idol worshippers in Athens "God has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”(Act 17:31) But there is Hope. Real Hope, for there is real Truth. I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind and now I see. I have been rescued and brought from death to life....eternal. Not because of anything I have done or will ever do. God saw to it to open my heart, I cried out have mercy on me , a sinner. Confess, repent (turn from your old life--Ro. 8:12) believe God has raised Jesus from the dead, and you will be saved. This world is passing away. A new Heaven and Earth approaches closer each day. He will come as a thief in the night. He will not strive with mankind forever.
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ...So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. (Gen 6:5)
For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matt 24:37-39)
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. (Heb. 11:8) Noah believed God....Noah was a just man, a man of integrity--a preacher of righteousness--a man who walked with God. (Gen. 6:9; 2 Peter 2:5)
For this they (unbelievers, mockers, profane) willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. ( 2 Peter 3:5-8)
