In The Beginning

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. (GEN 1)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.(John 1)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Col 1)

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1)

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; (Heb 1)

16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. (Col 1
)

4 when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law....(Gal 4)

who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (Heb 1)

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (Phil 2)

5 He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53)

4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Heb 1)

12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”(Act 4)

6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;(Is. 9)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3)

And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, (Is 9)

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ....I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. (Rev 1)

and we beheld His glory, (John 1:14)

2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. (Mark (9)

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (1 Peter 1)

Everlasting Father, (Is.9)

13 As a father shows compassion to his children,so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. (Ps 103:13)

Prince of Peace. (Is 9)

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. (John 14:27)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil; (Ps 23)

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! (2 Tim 4:18)

For You are with me;

8 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.....and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matt 28)

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Ps 23)

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say:
“ The LORD is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”(Heb 13)

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life; (Ps 23)

7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy. (Matt 5:7)

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD. Forever. (Ps 23: 6)

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; I go to prepare a place for you (John 14)

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,(matt 8)

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world...

For they shall see God. (Matt 5)

3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. (rev 22)

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: (matt 25:41)

12 “behold, I am coming quickly....(Rev 22)

scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? 8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.((2 Peter 3)

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. (Rev 22)

If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God....17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?(1 Peter 4)

it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power..(2Thess 1)

24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5)

if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved....
(Rom. 10)

Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening. 30 And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 34 A cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud. 35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” 36 When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found alone. (Luke 9)

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Gen 1)

3 Then God said.....

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. (John 1)

wHO'S tO bLAME?

This is what decades of socialism, handouts, liberalism (they've been deprived, throw more money at the situation, don't teach them to help themselves, keep them slaves of the system) , actions without consequences, freedom without responsibilty, gets a nation.

Most have no jobs to go to or exams they might pass. They know no family role models,They are illiterate and innumerate, beyond maybe some dexterity with computer games and BlackBerries. They are essentially wild beasts.

Why not riot when there's no rules. There's No, do not covet. No, do not steal. Instead Eat, drink and be merry.

They respond only to instinctive animal impulses — to eat and drink, have sex, seize or destroy the accessible property of others.

It's a what is theirs is mine attitude. The Jewish rabbis had a saying, “The reward of a good deed is a good deed, and the reward of an evil deed is an evil deed.” Sin is the punishment for sin. Sin begets sin which begets more sin. As a man reaps so he sows. So goes a nation that sows Godlessness.

it will not do for a moment to claim the rioters’ behaviour reflects deprived circumstances or police persecution.
It is because it is fantastically hard to help such people, young or old, without imposing a measure of compulsion which modern society finds unacceptable. These kids are what they are because nobody makes them be anything different or better.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

A key factor in delinquency is lack of effective sanctions to deter it. From an early stage, feral children discover that they can bully fellow pupils at school, shout abuse at people in the streets, urinate outside pubs, hurl litter from car windows, play car radios at deafening volumes, and, indeed, commit casual assaults with only a negligible prospect of facing rebuke, far less retribution.

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

They have no code of values to dissuade them from behaving anti-socially or, indeed, criminally, and small chance of being punished if they do so. They have no sense of responsibility for themselves, far less towards others, and look to no future beyond the next meal, sexual encounter or TV football game.

Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right.

Decades of removing God. Of denying God. Of worshipping false gods and false religions. Of compromise for sin. Of saying "we don't need the Christian God." Okay then, says God. Do it your own way. God withdraws. In it's place..."the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness....they are without excuse...Professing to be wise, they became fools...Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves....since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

You therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel,Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah (Ps 59:6)

They are an absolute deadweight upon society, because they contribute nothing yet cost the taxpayer billions.

8 But You, O LORD, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision. (Ps 59)

Liberal opinion holds they are victims, because society has failed to provide them with opportunities to develop their potential.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.

Rather, they are victims of a perverted social ethos, which elevates personal freedom to an absolute, and denies the underclass the discipline — tough love — which alone might enable some of its members to escape from the swamp of dependency in which they live.

The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made;In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught.(Psalm 9:15)

They are products of a culture which gives them so much unconditionally that they are let off learning how to become human beings.

The wicked shall be turned into hell,And all the nations that forget God.(Psalm 9:17)

Whatever Happened To Hell?

In my profession, I have the unique opportunity to interview various authors of the Christian faith. It's something I really enjoy as program director at a Christian radio station. Recently I interviewed a Harvard University graduate and seemingly Biblical sound author, of I might add a very well respected Christian publishing house, who has written a book on Bible questions people might have. To my surprise during the interview, I came to understand that he didn't believe the Biblical doctrine of Hell that has been taught for thousands of years. His view of Hell sounded more like an excuse for a doctrine that frankly puts off a lot of unbelievers and believers alike. His view of Hell not unlike those who hold to an annihilationism doctrine of hell. That the wicked simply are destroyed.

It got me to thinking about this doctrine and looking into its ramifications if it's watered down to where it's not of any consequence to the Christian faith. Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God himself comments about Hell more than anyone in the New Testament.
First He said "do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matt 10:28)This is a description of God, and of his power. Only God is able to "destroy", that is, to torment and punish both body and soul "in hell", in everlasting burnings; God is to be feared, not chiefly and principally only, but solely; (John Gill) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs 1:7)
1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
There is none who does good. (Ps 53)

In Mark chapter 9 Jesus speaks of the severity of hell, "into the fire that shall never be quenched— 46 where ‘ Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched." The Persic version renders it, "because from this place there can be no deliverance. Whatever Hell is, it is constant, neverending, eternal, conscious torment.
and in Matthew 13:40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matt 13: 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
What exactly does this mean? In Webster's original dictionary, Webster defined the verb "gnash" as "to grind the teeth, to rage even to collision with the teeth, to growl." Webster defined the noun "gnashing" in this way: "striking the teeth together, as in anger, rage or pain. A grinding or striking of the teeth in rage or anguish."
John Gill writes (declaring the remorse of conscience, the tortures of mind, the sense of inexpressible pain, and punishment, the wicked shall feel; also their furious rage and black despair.)

I believe Hell is God giving people over to their own evil hearts. Grace is withdrawn, the only thing people have in Hell is themselves. Eternal, conscious, torment. Paul says it in greater detail when in 2 Thess 1 where he writes....the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obpey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power...
God's grace withdrawn. Only the torment of being utterly consumed with the terror of hopelessness for eternity.
46] And these will go away into eternal punishment......
but the righteous into eternal life.”(Matthew 25:46 ESV)

The writers -Holy men of God who spoke being moved by the Holy Spirit- understood eternal life as being just that. Eternal. (everlasting life) . A time when God's chosen people will be together forever with God.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life...

and some to shame (debased or reprobate denoting the painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper) and everlasting contempt(vile, or worthless; disdain; scorn) dispised; morally despicable {Deserving hatred} or abhorrent detestable{deserving intense dislike} abominable )

This is how GOD SEES UNREGENERATE MANKIND. That is why flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

In John 3 a man , a leader of the Jews, came to Jesus who said to him "unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” As John chapter one proclaims " But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
Jesus said " Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation." (john 5:25;29)
15 and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. (Paul Act 24:15)

Who are the wicked. What sends a person to Hell.

32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.(John 5)“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John14:6) He who has the Son has life (1 John5)

Eternal life is just that. Eternal, conscious, everlasting existence.

"he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. "(1 John 5)
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Saved from what? Saved from an eternity absent from the presence of God and the glory of His power. In a place so unimaginable, so terrifying, so all alone with just your own evil heart.

The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.(Rev. 20:11-15)

It is logical and reasonable to conclude that eternal punishment (Matt 24:29) everlasting contempt < condemnation; damnation;> (Dan 12:2) is likewise eternal, conscious, everlasting existence.
We must all stand before the judgement seat of Christ. Will you hear the words, Depart from me, I never knew you. Or Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the lord?
